Excerpt From Black Jewell:Poetic

A Child To An Adult
A child born into the world pure,
without knowledge of what's to be
endured,
seeking the love of a mother and a father,
but when a child lacks that sense of
love,
it makes it harder for their heart to
fly free as a dove,
that emptiness follows them as an
adult,
the mission to feel that void is
sought,
but sometimes only takes them through
many sad trials and tribulations,
so if you never understood your child,
take a walk and allow your mind to go
that extra mile,
for a child is only a child a few, but

an adult many years due.

  1. This poem is very thought provoking. It gives insight into the thoughts and experinces that many of us have experience in our own childhoods. Great job Yilitha!
